Has begun a three-day workshop for strengthening sustainability against violent radicalism

Vushtrri, January 25, 2016 – Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program  began a three-day workshop on "STRESAVIORA" where is being discussed about strengthening sustainability against violent radicalism.

In this workshop have attended Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Skender Hyseni, Director General of the Academy, Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, and Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP, Mrs. Alessandra Roccasalvo,  Mr. Charles De Winter of the Belgium Federal Police and Noel Klima from Federal Public Service of Internal Affairs of Belgium. 
 
Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Skender Hyseni, said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has an important role, and has taken a leading role in combating, preventing the radicalism of the society in Kosovo, with the primary objective, the prohibition and prevention of terrorism and extremism with the premise of violence, that at certain stages of development turns into violent actions which takes forms of terrorist macabre acts.


"While it turns out as an essential obligation of societies of all the layers of social and political organizations, to do more in preventing the radicalism of our community," said Hyseni.

Whereas the Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP, Mrs. Alessandra Roccasalvo, said that Kosovo is among the countries of the Balkans more proactive and beyond, that is fighting and preventing radicalism and violent extremism, and this is not a compliment.


"An advantage for Kosovo is that as a small country, the police are doing a good job in this area, so we decided to join forces with the MIA and other partners in order to develop trainings in some countries which have had similar concerns "said Roccasalvo.

This workshop aims strengthening sustainability against radicalism and violent extremism, organized in two sessions, the first session is intended to representatives of central institutions, while another session is destined to local level. This workshop will last three days.
