Deputy Director of Norwegian University Police College Tor Tanke Holm visited the Academy

Vushtrri, 12 November 2018 - Kosovo Academy for Public Safety was visited by a delegation from the Norwegian University Police College (NUPC), led by Deputy Director Tor Tanke Holm who was also accompanied by associates Kirsti Helene Messel.


The delegation from the Norwegian University  Police College (NUPC) was hosted by the General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi and senior officials from the Academy, who initially wished welcome guests, at the same time, introduced them to the recent developments at the Academy, focusing on high education and professional training of public safety officials. The NUPC delegation was also informed about the background of the Academy, for the twinning project IPA 2 aimed at further strengthening the education in the field of public safety as well as for the international cooperation of the Academy. 

The visit of the Norwegian delegation took place during the two days of 8 and 9 November 2018. At 8 November 2018 they also participated in the second international conference on research and development of KAPS-"Educational Public Safety Institutions, a key factor in strengthening safety and public order " and Director of NUPC Mr. Tanks Holm held a lecture / presentation on the topic "Educational Public Safety Institutions, a key factor in strengthening safety and public order - the study case of Norway"
 

The purpose of this two-day visit of the Norwegian Police College was to closely inform about the scope of KAPS activity, finding opportunities for cooperation and the possibility of signing the cooperation agreement. 
 

General Director of the Academy Ismail Smakiqi and Tanke Holm during the meetings highlighted the willingness to cooperate closely two respective institutions within the scope of public safety education with a focus on higher education (the Bachelor program and in the future the Master program) exchange of best academic experiences and staff support to push forward institutional development processes.
