General Director of Kosovo Police Rashit Qalaj and General Director of Kosovo Correctional Service, Nehat Thaqi visited the Academy

Vushtrri, 04 mars 2019- Today in the early morning hours, General Director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Mr. Ismail Smakiqi, hosted on a visit the General Director of the Kosovo Police Rashit Qalaj, General Director of  the Kosovo Correctional Service Nehat Thaqi as well as the ICITAP Program Leader for Kosovo, Kimberly Riffe.

Directors Smakiqi, Qalaj, Thaqi accompanied by officers and senior officials of both agencies
and Riffe accompanied by senior ICITAP's advisors participated in the morning parade of 420 cadets of the Kosovo Police as well as 120 cadets of the  Kosovo Correctional Service, who are currently attending Vocational Training for Police Officer and Correctional Officer.

After lining up the cadets and the reports of Major Alban Jetullahu and Lieutenant Colonel Driton Zabërgja, Director Smakiqi welcomed guests in the morning parade, expressing satisfaction with the current development progress of these Professional Programs. Director Skamiqi encouraged cadets to continue with this  training tempo  and their preparation for the police and correctional profession.

"You are a lucky generation, the first to follow Professional Programs validated by the National Qualification Authority in a Academy accredited by national and international accreditation Agency ", said Director Smakiqi.

Meanwhile, Director Qalaj, addressing cadets, expressed support and encouragement for cadets and instructors for the work that  they are doing for  successful completion of vocational training for "New Police Officer".
"You've come to the Academy with your knowledge and your skills  and you  have been selected among thousands of young people who have targeted the cadet uniform. Therefore you have the opportunity to learn a lot and tomorrow you are in the service of your country's citizens, you have the opportunity to fulfill the dream of your parents - to make your country even better".

While Director Thaci welcoming the cadets lined up on the parade, He remembered the time, when 19 years ago was ranked among the cadets of the Kosovo Police and today is addressed in the  capacity of  General Director of the Kosovo Correctional Service " I encourage you to learn a lot here at the Academy and to come as much prepared in your Agencies, to serve your country, your country's citizens ".

The cadets were also welcomed by the ICITAP Program Leader for Kosovo Kimberly Riffe, who expressed the pleasure that ICITAP's office in Kosovo, which she leads, is part of the large family of law enforcement officials. ICITAP will continue to support the Academy and the Public Safety Agencies in their professional upgrading and in the service of all citizens of Kosovo.

After the end of the parade, Director Smakiqi welcomed the guests in a brief meeting,on which occasion was discussed about the challenges that the Academy has, which is facing the greatest number of cadets and students throughout its history.

"Currently at the Academy each day more than 800 participants and students attend the trainings.  Thanks to the work and dedication of 161 employees at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety and 57 PSA instructors, the Academy will successfully fulfill its mission ".


Directors Qalaj and Thaqi expressed readiness of their Agencies in support of the Academy, in the most successful completion of these trainings.
