The Academy Board held its regular meeting

Vushtrri, July 13, 2018 - The Board of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety held today its regular meeting, where they discussed about  the definition of sub-quotas for public security institutions for basic bachelor's studies at the Faculty of Public Safety for the academic year 2018 / 2019.

The meeting was attended by General Director of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi, General Director of Kosovo Probation Service Bajram Bujupi, also head of the board, Acting Director General of Kosovo Police Naim Rexha, Chief Executive Officer of Police Inspectorate of Kosovo Director Miradije Kelmendi, General Director of Kosovo Customs Bahri Berisha, Deputy Director General of Kosovo Correctional Service Rasim Selmanaj, Director General of Emergency Management Agency Fadil Kodra, Rector of the University Police College of Finland Kimo Himmberg,Expert Ritva Vahakoski, as well as senior officials from relevant institutions.

During this meeting, the board members of the Academy proposed and defined for sub-quotas for public security institutions for FPS studies.


On this occasion, General Director of Kosovo Academy for Public Safety Ismail Smakiqi thanked the board members of the Academy for their readiness to set sub-quotas for each agency separately.
Smakiqi said the Academy has been and is always willing to provide training and higher education for each public security agency official.


Meanwhile, the rector of the University Police College of Finland Kimo Himmberg, who is also the experts of the twinning project at the Academy, expressing happiness for cooperation, assessed that the Academy has achieved good results so far. Himmberg talking about the first steps of opening the Faculty of Public Safety said the Academy is a good example for how strategic documents should be implemented carefully.



“With this experience the Academy has, other strategies will reach the concrete bases of the Academy, which is constantly working to make it as good as possible.
I am happy to have served here, the Kosovo Academy is moving forward faster than the Finnish university, "said Himmberg

Unlike in the new academic year 2018/2019 for studies at the Faculty of Public Safety will be accepted 27 students from the Kosovo Police, 21 students from Kosovo Correctional Service of Kosovo, 5 from Kosovo Customs, Emergency Management Agency 11 and from Kosovo Police Inspectorate 1.
