Today at KCPSED gradated 20 officials from the Internal Control Service of Albania, in the Investigation Basic Course.

Vushtrri, May the 5th 2009- Today at the Kosovo Center for Public Safety, Education and Development, after 4 weeks of intensive training, 20 high officials of Directorate of the Internal Control Service of Albania are certificated, in the Investigation Basic Course.  

In the graduation ceremony also participated the General Director of the Internal Control Service of Albania Mr. Astrit HALILAJ, General Director of the Police Inspectorate of the Kosovo Mr. Enver RRUSTEMAJ, ICITAP Representative in Albania Mr. Leon STRIGOTE, Mr. Petrit BUSHI from the Embassy of Albania in Kosovo, ICITAP Representative in Kosovo Mr. Alex Rivera, and other high officials of the Kosovo Center for Public Safety, Education and Development and of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo.
 
The director of the Internal Control Service of Albania Mr. Astrit HALILAJ acknowledged the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo for realization of this training, he said that “This training marks one cooperation bridge between our two independent and democratic countries that belong to the same nation and speak the same language. It is the first course that is developed outside the country without having the need for a translator”

Further the director HALILAJ appreciated this training to be of great importance for consolidation of mutual cooperation in all fields, with a special emphasis in the field of Law Enforcement and creation of common standards. “The exchange of patterns and similar experiences between Agencies of Law of both countries, it is important for our mutual cooperation. This training will further strengthen our cooperation with the Inspectorate of Kosovo, because ICS and the PIK are two legal agencies responsible for duty supervision of Police Services, of both countries” said amongst other the Director of Internal Control Service, Mr. Astrit HALILAJ.

Mr. Driton ZABËRXHA from the Kosovo Police emphasized that the” Kosovo Police and Police of Albania are two important institutions that have a good cooperation and are on a right path of development, by working hard for a safer and democratic region” 

Meanwhile the ICITAP Representative in Albania Mr. Leon STRIGOTE highly appreciated the work of the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo and said that” The liberty and democracy are not equal with the corruption; we can not be a democratic society if there are no agencies to fight the crime. You are the experts in fighting the crime, but seen the good performance of PIK this training was initiated, and because that you are in the front-line of fighting the corruption we hope that together with our Kosovo homologues we will deliver a standard which will be a model not only for our countries but for the entire Southeast Europe”, said the ICITAP Representative in Albania.

Also Mr. Petrit BUSHI from the Embassy of Albania in Kosovo greeted the participants.
